Our History

Journey of Tholur

1978

Started in 1978 by P.P. Jose. Initially named “Justin Coffee Works”, the brand started with coffee production and was located in a rented building, with a business radius of only 10km.

1984

The company constructed its own building, and Justin Brand Coffee quickly became a household name, popular for its quality and taste.

1993

The founder's first son, Justin P Jose, joined the family business. In 1998, the second son, Jaison P Jose, also joined the family business.

1996

In 1996, the brand introduced a new premium quality coffee brand, “Silver Café”.

2001

The company also introduced a new brand in 2001, “Wayanadan Coffee”, which offered coffee in 50gm and 100gm categories.

2004

By 2004, the company had expanded its product range, introducing premium tea under the brand name “Silver Strong”. The tea came in 50gm, 100gm, 250gm, 1kg, and 5kg categories

2006

In 2006, the business expanded to all over the Kerala

2008

In 2008, the brand introduced Chukku Kappi, a traditional South Indian coffee with a unique taste, under the brand name “Silver Café Chukku Kappi”.

2009

The brand expanded its product range in 2009 with the introduction of “Silver Tamarind”, offering tamarind in 100gm, 250gm, 1/2kg, and 1kg categories.

2013

In 2013, it entered the pickle business with the introduction of the “Tholur Special brand”, offering lime, garlic, tender mango, and cut mango pickles. The Tholur Special brand became an instant hit, and the sale of the brand contributed to 50% of the company's total revenue. The brand also started exporting tea.

2015

In 2015, the brand introduced a range of spices, including fish masala, sambar powder, meat masala, and chicken masala.

2018

In 2018, the brand added mixed veg pickles, pulinchi, and karupatty (palm Jaggery) to its product range.

2019

In 2019, the company introduced chilly powder, coriander powder, and turmeric powder.

2020

In 2020, the brand started offering Chuttarache Chamanthi, traditional coconut chutney with a unique taste, and entered the Wayanad district. The company also bought four more vehicles for distribution and route sale, and a new company, “Tholur Trading”, was started for trading purposes.

2021

In 2021, the company started a new business, “Food way Foods”, offering tea powder and Chukku Kappi.

2022

In 2022, the company launched a new subsidiary, “Tholur Foods Pvt Ltd”.
